Type of Spell: Expert Level

Equipment

  • 1 alter
  • 1 intersection where three roads converge

Ingredients

  • 1 A triangular potsherd from a crossroads where three roads meet. You can take your own pot to a crossroads and create your own potsherd. Remember to clean up your mess.
  • 1 smudge stick Sage or saltwater to purify the potshard
  • 1 White candle
  • Myrrh ink or Black ink imbued with the blessings of the Goddess Hekate
  • A stylus or thin brush for inscription
  • A small black or white cloth
  • A piece of black tourmaline or obsidian

Instructions

  • Find a crossroads where three roads meet and smash your pot to create a triangular potsherd. It symbolizes the connection to Hekate's realm and her influence over the crossroads. Clean up any remaining debris after creating the potsherd to show respect for the environment and the sacred space.
    1 A triangular potsherd
  • Once you have the potsherd, cleanse it with some saltwater or sage smoke to purify its energy.
    1 smudge stick Sage
  • In your sacred space, light a candle and some incense to create a protective atmosphere.
    1 White candle
  • Invoke Hekate's presence by saying a simple prayer or invocation, such as:
"Hekate, Goddess of the Crossroads, Keeper of the Keys,
I call upon you to lend me your power and protection.
Stand by me as I cast this spell, and shield me from harm."
This will also imbue the ink with the blessing of Hekate.
  • Take the triangular potsherd in your left hand and use the myrrh ink to inscribe the names "ASTRAÊLOS" and "CHRAÊLOS" on the potsherd.
Myrrh ink or Black ink, A stylus or thin brush for inscription
  • While inscribing the potsherd, recite the following incantation:
"Oh great and powerful Hekate, ruin every spell that is cast against me, [insert your name], because I adjure you by the great and terrifying names, the names at which the winds shudder and the rocks shatter."
  • As you inscribe the potsherd, visualize a protective energy emanating from the inscription and surrounding you, creating an impenetrable barrier against negative influences. Also, imagine Hekate's serpent companion, ASTRAÊLOS, representing air, and her dog companion, CHRAÊLOS, representing earth, joining their energies to enhance the protective shield.
  • Once the inscription is complete, wrap the potsherd in the black or white cloth, along with the black tourmaline or obsidian if you chose to include it. This will help to further strengthen the protective energy.
A small black or white cloth, A piece of black tourmaline or obsidian
  • Find a safe and hidden spot in your home to keep the wrapped potsherd. It could be buried in your yard, placed in a drawer, or hidden behind a picture frame.
  • To maintain the potency of the protection spell, periodically recharge the potsherd by placing it on your altar or under the moonlight, and visualize the protective energy being renewed, with the aid of Hekate's serpent and dog companions, ASTRAÊLOS and CHRAÊLOS.

Notes

By focusing on the names ASTRAÊLOS and CHRAÊLOS and reciting the incantation while inscribing the potsherd, you invoke Hekate's power and create a lasting shield against negative spells and influences in your life, reinforced by the elemental energies of air and earth.
